Zheshang Venture Capital acted as a go-between; Hangzhou City and the State of Geneva signed the Joint Declaration on Supporting the “West Lake- LemanLake”Finance, Technology and Innovation Forum
On July 4, the state government delegation led by Pierre Maudet as the president of the Council of the State of Geneva (Swiss Confederation), formally launched the journey of cooperation on visiting Hangzhou. On the afternoon of that day, Hangzhou Municipal Government and the Government of the State of Geneva (Switzerland) jointly signed the Joint Declaration on Supporting the“West Lake- LemanLake”Finance, Technology and Innovation Forum. The signing of this declaration indicates that, “Two Lakes Forum” proactively initiated, promoted and prepared by Zheshang Venture Capital formally enters a new phase. This will be a grand event concerning the matter that Hangzhou and Geneva forge the financial cooperation bridge, also regarded as the contribution made by Zheshang Venture Capital to boost the internationalized financial city process of Hangzhou.
The delegation members of the State of Geneva (Switzerland) include Nicholas Niggli as the secretary general for the state economic development and innovation affairs, Michael Kleiner as the executive officer of the State Economic Development Department, Juan-Carlos Torres as the president of Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other department heads from governments and enterprises.
Feng Yao as the Standing Committee Member of Hangzhou CPC Committee and Deputy Mayor, Qiangyu Li as the Deputy Secretary General of Hangzhou Municipal Government, Xiaoxiang Hu as the Deputy Director of Hangzhou Financial Affairs Office, Desheng Kong as the Deputy Director of Hangzhou Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Yongguang Hu as the Deputy District Mayor of Shangcheng District and related leaders, as well as President Yuemeng Chen, Chief Administrative Officer Yeyu Hua and Chief Executive Officer Dongqiu Liu of Zheshang Venture Capital, attended the Signing Ceremony. Qiangyu Li presided over the Signing Ceremony.
When giving the address, Deputy Mayor Feng Yao said: “Hangzhou is a city full of innovation vitality. In 2017, Hangzhou finance industry successfully entered the “100 billion yuan club, marked with accelerated construction of new financial innovation center, so that the features of Hangzhou financial development were further highlighted. Geneva is the world fintech central city. The cooperation between two cities is based on the global perspective. We would like to express our gratitude to Zhejiang Venture Capital for its efforts made to hold the forum. The holding of the forum will help to build a financial bridge between two cities. We hope that, Hangzhou and Geneva can become the good partner to achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation. ”
When giving the address, Pierre Maudet stated that this journey to Hangzhou left a deep impression on him. He saw the innovation vitality that Hangzhou owned, as well as great opportunities and development space that the holding of the forum may bring to the financial cooperation between two cities. The Government of the State of Geneva will proactively promote the preparation work of the forum. They hope that this can boost the joint development of Geneva and Hangzhou.
Later, Feng Yao and Pierre Maudet who respectively represented Hangzhou Municipal Government and the Government of the State of Geneva, signed the Joint Declaration. Dongqiu Liu as the Chief Executive Officer of Zheshang Venture Capital, and Minhua Yu of MIREMONT PARTNERS, signed the Cooperation Agreement on Jointly Initiating the USA Fund.
According to the Joint Declaration, Hangzhou Municipal Government and the Government of the State of Geneva agree to hold the “West Lake – Leman Lake Forum”, to promote the economic, technical, innovative, financial and cultural exchange between Hangzhou and Geneva, and strengthen the common interests between two economic systems, as well as development of harmonious relationship.
Before the Signing Ceremony held in the afternoon, the delegation led by Pierre Maudet also visited Zheshang Venture Capital Center, and had a seminar with Yuemeng Chen, Yeyu Hua and Dongqiu Liu, so as to carry out deep communication.
At the seminar, Yuemeng Chen said: “Preparing and holding the West Lake – Leman Lake Forum is the common desire of people from the financial field of two cities. The signing of the Joint Declaration represents the sincere will of both parties. In the future, Zheshang Venture Capital hopes to strengthen the cooperation with the people from the financial field of Geneva. We express our gratitude to the president of the Council and related government sectors for their strong support for Zheshang Venture Capital.”
After the Signing Ceremony, Congjiu Zhu as the Deputy Governor of Zhejiang held the welcome banquet, to express the warm welcome to the delegation of the Government of the State of Geneva. He stated that, Zhejiang Venture Capital proactively acted as a go-between of Hangzhou and Geneva, so that the preparation work of the forum was properly launched. Its work shall be highly affirmed. The forum shall become the international and specialized forum with rich content on financial innovation, family wealth inheritance management and support of sci-tech finance.
